Frequently Asked Questions

How can I create a Percy account?
Percy is currently in open beta for academic users. Non-academic users can request access through our contact form.

How much does Percy cost?
Percy is free to download — get to know Percy with a two-week free trial, then subscribe at a simple monthly rate: $30/month, or $20/month for students (with .edu email).

What are "credits"? What if I run out?
A Percy subscription includes 200 free credits, refilled at the beginning of each month. These credits reflect the cost of your LLM usage. Keep track of your credit bank and buy more on the Percy billing page.

What are "External Data Sources," and how do I connect them?
Percy can work with files outside your main workspace folder. To connect them, open the Percy Project page (gear icon at top of the Percy sidebar), click the plus icon next to "External Data Sources," and add the appropriate file path.

Can Percy run Stata functions?
Yes! To connect Percy to Stata, open the Percy Project page (gear icon at the top of the Percy sidebar), click the plus icon next to "Specialties," and select your edition of Stata.

Percy is having trouble with my [insert obscure format] files. What gives?
Right now, Percy is optimized for processing data in .csv/.xlsx/.dta format and writing code in Python/R/Stata. We will support a broader range of file types and programming languages in the near future.
